FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WISH) — A 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old were arrested Sunday for their roles in a quadruple shooting that killed a teen and injured three others in downtown Fort Wayne.

At 12:11 a.m. Saturday, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) responded to a shooting investigation in the area of South Harrison Street and Pearl Street. Officers arrived and found four people with gunshot wounds.

One of the victims (a 16-year-old boy) later died from his injuries at a local hospital.

The remaining victims were treated for their injuries and later medically discharged.

FWPD Homicide Unit detectives were able to identify suspects after an investigation was conducted. Multiple search and arrest warrants were executed. A 16-year-old boy was taken into custody without incident in the 3300 block of Webster Street. He is being preliminarily charged with murder, attempted murder, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, and unlawful possession of a firearm. Because of his age, investigators did not provide the identity of this suspect.

A second suspect was arrested in the 1200 block of Oakland Street without incident. He was identified as 18-year-old Ni’Shawn Jackson. Jackson is being preliminarily charged with attempted murder and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.

A third search warrant was executed in the 1900 block of Woodhaven Drive, where multiple firearms were recovered.

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department.
