INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Republicans on the Indianapolis City-County Council have announced a change in leadership.
Michael-Paul Hart has been removed as the council’s minority leader after less than eight months, Councilor Brian Mowery confirmed to I-Team 8’s Kyla Russell.
Mowery, who served as minority leader before Hart, has taken over the position. Mowery represents District 25, which includes Franklin Township.
Hart was elected in 2019 and represents District 20, which covers parts of southern and eastern Indianapolis.
News 8 is working to determine what led to the leadership change.
