SPENCER, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana State Police investigators are assisting detectives from the Owen County Sheriff’s Office in a double homicide investigation at a residence north of Spencer, Indiana.
On Saturday, a deputy from the Owen County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a gunshot wound at a residence north of Spencer. The deputy arrived and found two people who had been shot in the driveway. A person of interest has surrendered to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department.
Preliminary investigation indicates that there is no additional threat to public safety.
Crime scene investigators from the Indiana State Police Bloomington District were contacted and requested to assist with the identification and collection of evidence.
The investigation by Owen County detectives is in the primary states, and Owen County Sheriff Ryan White will address the media in a news conference scheduled for 9 p.m. Saturday at the Owen County Courthouse.
