INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana State Police are working to figure out what led to the death of a 10-year-old found in a vehicle in Delaware County.
According to state police, the child had a “documented lifelong medical condition” and was found Thursday evening in Selma, a small town about 8 miles east of Muncie.
“The Delaware County Coroner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death. At this time, there does not appear to be anything suspicious about the death,” ISP said in a release Friday morning.
Once completed, the investigation will be reviewed by the county prosecutor’s office to determine if criminal charges should be filed.
State police did not provide the child’s name or age.
No other information was immediately available.
