IND airport dog Chica competes in TSA’s Cutest Canine Contest
INDIANAPOLIS (IWSH) — Chica, an explosives detection canine at Indianapolis International Airport, is vying for the title in the Transportation Security Administration’s 2025 Cutest Canine Contest, with public voting open until noon EDT Wednesday.
Chica, a 3-year-old German wirehaired pointer, is competing against Alex, a Labrador from Denver International Airport, in the second round of the contest.
People can vote for the winner on TSA’s social media platforms, including Instagram, X, and Facebook.
Keith Gray, Chica’s explosives detection canine handler, said in a statement in a news release, “Chica is quite the head turner with her long hair and trot in her step, but her strong nose and drive to work is what sets her apart.”
The winner of the contest will be announced Aug. 26.
