INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives arrested a 37-year-old man for his alleged involvement in an aggravated assault that left another man in critical condition.
On June 15, IMPD East District officers responded to a disturbance in the 1500 block of Arlington Avenue on a report of a person struck by a vehicle. Officers arrived and found a man suffering from injuries consistent with being struck by a car. The man was taken in serious condition to a local hospital by Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services medics.
IMPD detectives later arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. Detectives gathered statements from witnesses and canvassed the area for evidence. After investigating, detectives identified 37-year-old Isaac Vance as a suspect. Detectives requested, and were granted, a warrant for Vance’s arrest.
On Wednesday, detectives, along with the IMPD Violent Crime Unit, the IMPD Special Weapons and Tactics team, and the U.S. Marshal Task Force, located and apprehended Vance in connection with the active warrant.
Vance was arrested and preliminarily charged for attempted murder and aggravated battery.
