August 18, 2025 morning forecast with Tara Hastings
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Another hot day today but we will eventually see a pattern shift for the middle part of the work week. Humidity values drop and so do temperatures later in the week.
So far this year we have seen twenty eight 90 degree days and we will continue to add to the tally today.
TODAY: A mild and muggy start with mainly clear skies. We will see partly cloudy conditions for the afternoon. It will be incredibly hot and humid yet again today. Look for high temperatures right around 90°. We will see humidity values on the high side throughout the afternoon creating heat indices into the mid and upper 90s. Some locations south and west of Indianapolis may see heat indices into the triple digits.
TONIGHT: Overnight tonight it will be mild and muggy under mostly clear skies. Low temperatures will fall near 71.
TOMORROW: Partly cloudy skies on Tuesday. Look for high temperatures right around 90 degrees. Heat indices once again into the mid and upper 90s. We have a cold front that will move through bringing showers and thunderstorms across the area and that will also change our weather pattern as well.
7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: Look for a chance for some showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday. High temperatures will be into the lower ’80s and humidity values begin to drop as well.
Great weather for the end of the week, mostly sunny Thursday and Friday. Highs on Thursday and will be into the middle ’80s. Mid and upper ’80s on Friday for the first of the zone football games. Dry conditions are expected as we end the work week.
Hurricane Erin is still out in the Atlantic and will continue to move west. It will make a turn to the right and go away from the US mainland. However it will be close enough where we could see some heavier chop along the east coast.
