INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The heat is on for the holiday weekend. High temperatures will be into the ’90s with feels-like temperatures getting close to the triple digits by the end of the weekend.
TODAY: Skies will be mostly sunny through much of the day today with a few clouds doting the sky in the afternoon. We will look for hot and humid conditions today. High temperatures will be into the ’90s for the afternoon with feels-like temperatures into the low and middle ’90s. We do have an air quality alert in place for parts of Central Indiana as we will see a stagnant air mass with very little wind and with the firework smoke could cause some issues for sensitive groups.
TONIGHT: It will be clear for any fireworks displays that you are going to this evening. Mild and muggy conditions with most spots staying into the upper ’80s around 10:00 pm. Overnight temperatures will fall into the lower 70s with mild and muggy conditions.
TOMORROW: Lots of sunshine once again on your Saturday. It is going to be hot and humid. High temperatures will be climbing into the lower 90s with heat indices into the middle ’90s.
7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: Rain chances will be possible later in the afternoon on Sunday as a cold front approaches the state. Ahead of the front it will be hot and incredibly humid. High temperatures will be into the lower 90s on Sunday but feels like temperatures will be into the upper 90s flirting with the triple digits.
The front stalls out on Monday that will bring us a chance for some more showers and thunderstorms with highs in the upper 80s. On and off shower chances will continue Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the middle and upper ’80s.
