INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Very limited rain chances are expected in the extended forecast.

Today:

We’re monitoring for patchy fog this morning, which could be dense in isolated areas. Fog may persist through the early morning hours, including the morning commute, but should dissipate fairly quickly by mid-morning.

Expect mostly sunny skies with hot and humid conditions. High temperatures will reach the upper 80s to around 90°F. Dewpoint temperatures in the mid to upper 60s will result in feels-like temperatures in the mid-90s this afternoon.

Tonight:

Much of the evening and overnight will remain quiet across central and southern Indiana. There is a low-end threat of a few showers and thunderstorms in far northern counties due to a weakening system moving out of northern Illinois later tonight.

Hot weekend:

Hot and humid weather will dominate the upcoming weekend. Aside from a few morning showers and storms in the northern third of the state on Friday morning, expect mostly sunny skies over the next several days. High temperatures will hover close to 90°F on Friday and through the weekend. Dewpoint temperatures near 70°F will push feels-like temperatures into the mid to upper 90s. While this is just below heat advisory criteria, conditions will be quite uncomfortable heading into the weekend.

7 day forecast:

Rain chances are likely to hold off until late Monday night, when a trough and trailing cold front will bring showers and thunderstorms to the area. These systems should also bring temperatures closer to seasonal norms for mid-August, with highs in the mid-80s on Tuesday and Wednesday.
