Former teacher sentenced to 20 years in prison
FRANKLIN, Ind. (WISH) — A former teacher from Greenwood and Southport has been sentenced to 20 years in prison, the Johnson County prosecutor said.
A Johnson County jury in June found Shane Williams, 48, guilty of two counts of child molestation, a count of child solicitation, and a count of dissemination of harmful material.
Court documents say the investigation started when a victim – who was not a student – told police Williams had been showing pornography to the victim and forcing the victim to touch him inappropriately.
Another nonstudent victim came forward during the investigation, disclosing similar abuse.
Shane Williams, 48, was convicted in Johnson County. Investigators said the crimes happened while he served as a teacher at Greenwood Middle School.
