Fever coach Stephanie White shares Caitlin Clark injury update

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has been ruled out against the Dallas Wings. It will be the 11th straight game Clark will miss due to a right groin injury.

Fever head coach Stephanie White said Clark has not returned to practice yet.

White did share that Clark has been able to get in other work to build back endurance as she recovers.

“She’s been able to get a little bit more in her full court running with all of her body weight,” White said. “It’s really building up from doing minimal to then building some endurance to do longer periods of time. She’s been able to do a little bit more on the court in terms of how she moves, but not into practice yet.”

Clark has missed 19 regular season games this season. She has also dealt with left quad and left groin injuries.

In addition to the regular season games, Clark also missed the Commissioner’s Cup championship game and WNBA All-Star Weekend with injuries.

Clark has averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game in 13 games played this season.

The Fever (18-14) are 8-5 with Clark in the lineup and 10-9 without her.

The Fever have been dealing with injuries all season. Guards Sydney Colson (torn ACL) and Aari McDonald (broken bone in right foot) are both out for the rest of the season.

Despite that, they are four games above .500 and in line for the No. 5 seed in the WNBA playoff picture.

“Just a high quality character group,” White said. “They’re resilient. They pull for one another. They don’t get too high, they don’t get too low. And they believe, and that’s the most important thing. They’ve been through a lot.”

The Fever return to action on Tuesday at home against the Wings. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
