Lilly hikes UK drug prices for US benefit

Eli Lilly & Company has hiked Mounjaro prices in the U.K. to make the weight-loss drug cheaper in the U.S.

This comes after weeks of pressure from the Trump administration.

Lilly didn’t say how much less Mounjaro will be in the U.S. but it is increasing by 170% in the U.K.

Lilly said in its statement that it was committed to keeping the United States as the global leader in drug research and manufacturing.

Google issues new cybersecurity warning

Google has 1.8 billion Gmail users worldwide, and the company recently issued a major warning to all of those users about a “new wave of threats” to cybersecurity, given the advancements in artificial intelligence.

Google issued a warning to all of its users about a new threat: indirect prompt injections.

Tech expert Scott Polderman says hackers have figured out a way to use Gemini – Google’s own AI – against itself, where essentially hackers are sending an email with a hidden message to Gemini to reveal your passwords without you even realizing.

The tech giant advised Gmail users to check security settings and avoid suspicious links.

European leaders to meet with Ukraine president

European leaders will travel to Washington with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to meet with President Trump on Monday.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said a major focus of the Monday talks will be security guarantees, including the role the U.S. might potentially play.

President Trump will push Ukrainian leader Zelenskyy for a deal to end the war.

FDA warns against unapproved sunscreens

Federal health officials are warning Americans to avoid sunscreens marketed in whipped, mousse and foam because they aren’t approved as effective methods for applying the product.

According to the FDA, these products are labeled and marketed as drugs but have not been FDA-approved in those forms.

Meanwhile, TikTok influencers are spreading misinformation about sunscreens, claiming they are toxic.

The anti-sunscreen movement has alarmed dermatologists, who recommend that everyone use sunscreen to protect against skin cancer and aging.

Small business owners feeling optimistic

Optimism among the small business community in Indiana and elsewhere improved in July following Congress making the small business deduction permanent and providing North and South Carolina’s small businesses with permanent tax relief.

Still, 11% of owners reported that inflation was their single most important problem in operating their business, unchanged from June’s lowest reading since September 2021.
