INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) –  Temperatures begin to heat up for the end of the week and into the holiday weekend. It will feel awfully uncomfortable with a hot holiday weekend in store with heat index values that will get awfully close to the triple digits.

TODAY: Mostly clear skies to start off the day today with lots of sunshine. Humidity values are a little bit higher than what we saw yesterday. It will feel a bit more uncomfortable with  very warm conditions with highs today into the upper ’80s near 90. Look for lots of sunshine for much of the day with a few more clouds heading into the afternoon hours. Feels like temperatures will be into the lower 90s.

TONIGHT: Mainly clear skies tonight it will be a bit more muggy out there overnight. Low temperatures will only drop you around 70.

TOMORROW: If you are heading to any parades or festivals for the first part of the Independence Day holiday we will see mainly dry conditions. Sunny skies but it will be hot and humid throughout much of the day. High temperatures will climb into the lower 90s. With a higher humidity feels like temperatures will be into the mid and possibly even upper 90s at times. Look for dry conditions throughout the evening hours if you are heading to any firework shows. It will be mild and muggy.

7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: We are in store for a hot holiday weekend. High temperatures on Saturday will be into the lower 90s. Feels like temperatures with higher humidity values climb into the mid and upper 90s. Look for lots of sunshine and dry conditions on Saturday. On Sunday partly cloudy skies there is a chance we could see a few scattered rain or thunderstorms later in the afternoon and evening. High temperatures Sunday will climb into the lower 90s with heat index values near the triple digits. 

We will see some scattered showers and thunderstorms as a cold front moose through on Monday Look for highs into the upper ’80s rain chances are possible heading into Tuesday as well with highs into the mid-80s.
