INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Dream Palace Books & Coffee, a little shop tucked into the corner of Pennsylvania and 16th streets, has announced it will be closing its doors at the end of the July.
The store made the announcement on social media Tuesday night.
“While this was a difficult choice, we have decided to close our doors effective July 26,” the post read. “While this was not the ideal outcome, we are honored we had the chance to create an alternative space in Indianapolis.”
Dream Palace first opened its doors in October 2023 and often served much more than coffee and sweets then, hosting an array of events like open mics, literary festivals, and “latte throwdowns.”
Reactions to the post expressed sadness and gratitude, one commenter thanking Dream Palace for helping “grow the literary and cafe culture of Indy.”
The owners did not specify what led to the closure.
