Several livestock shows at Indiana State Fair today
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indiana State Fair is entering its final week, and there’s still plenty of things to do before it closes on Aug. 17. From fair food to animals and rides there’s still plenty of activities to celebrate Hoosiers all across the state.
Sunday is Little Red Door’s Cancer Survivors’ Day at the State Fair. Also this evening at the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage is Christian artist Chris Tomlin, he’ll hit the stage at 7:30 p.m.
State Fair Queen Pilar Bravo from Marion County appeared on WISH-TV’s Daybreak to share what her what run as queen has been like.
“It’s been amazing. We’ve done so many different things. Actually, just yesterday we went to the very top of the coliseum where I got to sign the Indiana State Fair sign. And I’m not going to lie, I was a little scared of being up there, but it’s been a whirlwind of fun and I’m so appreciative of this role,” Bravo said.
With the Indiana State Fair, comes their iconic fair food. Despite all the choices, Bravo says she hold a favorite. “My personal favorite has been the new taste of the fair, Pickle Bacon Ranch Pizza. That pizza is amazing, like 10 out of 10.”
It’s always fun to go to the state fair, but as queen Bravo has some responsibility that comes with the title.
“It means the world. Seriously, it means family and being able to connect with each individual that I come across, all different walks of life. It’s seriously something really cool and really special and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.” Bravo said.
