GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — The deaths of a mother and her 3-year-old son found in their Greenwood home Monday morning is now being investigated as a homicide.
Greenwood Police Department officers found 33-year-old Karon Clay and her son Karter dead in the 600 block of Greenway Street after being called to their home for a welfare check.
That address is in the Villages At Grassy Creek subdivision. The entrance to the subdivision is on Stop 18 Road about halfway between U.S. 31 and Sheek Road.
An autopsy later determined Karon was pregnant and in her third trimester.
Greenwood police did not reveal the Clays’ cause of death, but said the investigation has shifted from a death investigation to a homicide investigation.
“Our investigators are working diligently and using every tool available to bring those responsible to justice,” the department said.
Anyone with information on the Clays’ deaths were asked to contact the Greenwood Police Department at 317-882-9191.
