WESTFIELD, Ind (WISH) — Colts head coach Shane Steichen confirmed that they are staying with the plan of Daniel Jones starting in the preseason game against the Green Bay Packers.
However, the plan for playing time has been altered due to Anthony Richardson Sr. leaving the first preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens early with a dislocated right pinky.
Jones will start and play the first couple series, and Richardson will play the rest of the first half.
The original plan was for Jones to play the first quarter and a half. But, Jones played for around a quarter in a half in the game against the Ravens.
Steichen also said the plan right now is for Colts starters on both sides of the ball to play for the first quarter.
Jones threw for 144 yards on 10/21 passing against the Ravens. Richardson was 2/3 for 21 yards before he left with the injury.
The Colts will have a joint practice against the Packers on Thursday at Grand Park. Kickoff in the preseason game is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday.
The Colts get back on the practice field again on Monday at 4 p.m. at Grand Park. Monday will be the second to last practice for the Colts during training camp.
