INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Circle City Broadcasting has launched the first phase of its $2 million public service campaign, YATVAC (Youth Alternatives to Violence and Crime), aimed at reducing youth violence and crime in Indianapolis and across Indiana.
The campaign’s initial rollout includes the beta launch of the YATVAC Digital Resource Hub on WISHTV.com. The online platform will serve as a central destination for youth, families and community members to find information, opportunities and services.
At launch, the hub includes:
- What is YATVAC
— The mission statement and launch video.
- Local Curfew Information — Details on nightly curfew times, with announcements airing daily on WISH-TV and WNDY and posted on social media. Reminders will air at 10 p.m. and 12 a.m. The curfew is 11 p.m. for ages 15 and under, and 1 a.m. for ages 15-17.
- Real Stories — Vignettes highlighting community voices that offer alternatives to violence and crime.
- Find Resources Near You — A growing directory of trusted local programs and services for youth and parents, including counseling, food and housing assistance, and youth development opportunities.
- Be Part of the Solution — Ways for individuals and organizations to get involved and share resources.
The campaign will also feature a dedicated YATVAC YouTube Channel, Facebook Page and TikTok Account showcasing vignettes, curfew reminders, the launch video and other YATVAC content.
“This is an important step in making YATVAC a trusted hub for youth and families in our community,” DuJuan McCoy, owner, president and CEO of Circle City Broadcasting, said in a news release. “We are committed to expanding this effort through strong community partnerships that will be announced in the coming weeks.”
