Caitlin Clark receives gift from Masters champion

Bubba Watson goes to Fever game, gives Caitlin Clark a gift

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Caitlin Clark and the Fever bring some of the biggest names to Indianapolis for their games.

On Tuesday night, it was a two-time Masters champion that went to go watch Clark play.

Bubba Watson, the 2012 and 2014 Masters champion, got to meet Clark before the game. He also gave her a gift – one of his drivers, which he signed for the Fever superstar.

“I told her it’s for her trophy room,” Watson said. “She’s got a big trophy room, I bet. So it’s just one little piece I said she could have.”

Watson is quite a Fever fan himself.

“I haven’t missed a game on TV, so to be here live is pretty special,” Watson said. “To be in Indianapolis is a once in a lifetime dream. So this is fun. To be able to meet her, to see how sweet she is and how caring she is, it’s pretty special.”

Watson is not just a Fever fan. He’s a fan of the WNBA as a whole.

“My wife played four years pro basketball,” Watson said. “And so for the ladies to get this much hype, there’s a lot of people that started pushing it over the edge, and Caitlin’s pushed it over a big edge, but it started over the last four years, five years, and now the league is really getting its due, and it’s fun to watch. It’s fun to see.”

Watson will be back in Indianapolis for the LIV Golf tournament in August. He gave his pitch for why fans should come watch at The Club at Chatham Hills.

“Some of the names that will be here, some of the greats that will be here, major champions that’ll be here, it’ll just be fun,” Watson said. “It’ll be a blast. It’s entertaining. There’ll be concerts. There’ll be music.”

The LIV Golf tournament is scheduled for August 15-17.

Clark and the Fever take on the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
