Caitlin Clark questionable for Wednesday’s game against Liberty

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana Fever star guard Caitlin Clark is listed as questionable on the injury report for Wednesday’s game against the New York Liberty.

Clark injured her right groin in Tuesday’s win against the Connecticut Sun.

Clark grabbed the inside of her right leg after assisting on a Kelsey Mitchell layup with less than a minute remaining in the game. She exited the game after the play and did not return.

Clark had a towel over her head in the timeout after her injury.

“Just felt a little something in her groin, so we’ll get it evaluated and see what happens from there,” Fever head coach Stephanie White said after Tuesday’s game.

The Fever and Liberty are scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. Eastern in New York.

Clark previously missed time this season with a left groin injury and a left quad injury. She missed nine regular season games, plus the Commissioner’s Cup championship game, with the two separate injuries.

Clark has averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game in 13 games played this season.

The Fever are 8-5 with Clark in the lineup and 4-5 (plus a win in the Commissioner’s Cup championship game) without Clark.

On Tuesday, before the Fever’s game against the Sun, the WNBA announced Clark will participate in the 3-point contest as part of WNBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis. Clark is also the captain of her team in the All-Star Game.

The 3-point contest and skills competition will take place on Friday and the All-Star Game will be played on Saturday. Both events are at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
