INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Caitlin Clark appears to have suffered a potential injury that could impact all of WNBA All-Star week in Indianapolis.
Late in Tuesday night’s Fever game against the Connecticut Sun, Clark grabbed the inside of her right leg and headed to the bench visibly upset. The potential injury overshadowed the Fever’s 85-77 win over the Sun at TD Garden in Boston.
The injury could be the latest setback in what’s been a tough season for one of the league’s most popular players. Clark had never missed a game in her college or pro career before this year. However, so far in 2025 Clark has missed 9 of the fever’s 22 regular season games with leg injuries.
In May and June, Clark missed five games with a left quad strain. She was then out for another two week stretch from late June to early July with a groin injury on her left side.
Tuesday night’s injury appeared to be in the right groin area. However, the fever’s head coach, Stephanie White, said very little about the new injury after Tuesday night’s game.
“No, just felt a little something in her groin, so we’ll get it evaluated and see what happens from there,” White said after Tuesday’s game.
There’s no word yet on Clark’s status for the Fever’s game Wednesday night in New York against the Liberty.
According to ESPN’s injury report, Clark was listed as “day-to-day” as of Wednesday morning.
Clark’s latest injury also means her role in WNBA All-Star weekend Indianapolis could be up in the air. Clark led the league in All-Star fan votes, making her a captain of one of the teams for Saturday’s game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
On Tuesday, the league announced Clark was set to be part of its first All-Star 3-point shootout on Friday. Neither the fever nor the WNBA have made any new announcements about Clark competing this weekend.
