Arrest warrant issued for woman in trouble again for animal cruelty

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An arrest warrant has been issued from a Marion County court for a 24-year-old Kokomo woman who’s in trouble again for animal cruelty, online court records show.

She has already served time in federal prison for killing dogs and cats.

Krystal Scott faces a low-level felony charge of cruelty to an animal in Marion Superior Court 26. News 8 reported June 26 that Scott had been fined for violating her probation after she was found with a dozen malnourished animals in the back of a van used for moving goods.

Court documents that the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office shared on Thursday say the van was found June 21 outside a Hardee’s restaurant on East Washington Street near downtown Indianapolis. An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer found Scott, Tresten Cannon and Crystal Bunch inside the van, and three kittens and 10 dogs inside the U-Haul van.

Animal control officers took the animals and issued 12 violations, which come with a minimum $25 fine, to Scott, Cannon and Bunch. The investigator wrote in court documents that the exact ownership of the animals was unclear.

Scott, who was identified as the authorized driver of the U-Haul, admitted to being on probation for an animal cruelty-related offense.

In 2021 in U.S. federal court, Scott had pleaded guilty to creating animal crushing video in which she killed five dogs, five cats and 11 unborn kittens from May 3, 2020, to July 8, 2020, in Kokomo. Boise, Idaho, police had been alerted to her videos and tipped off federal authorities.

Federal records show Scott served 19 months in prison for the conviction.
