FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WISH) — A vehicle on Tuesday night fatally hit a woman walking across Coliseum Boulevard, police said.
Fort Wayne Police Department was called just before 8:20 p.m. Tuesday to the 1200 block of State Road 930/North Coliseum Boulevard, a commercial area just north of the Maumee River.
Investigators think the woman was trying to cross the road when a southbound vehicle hit her. Police say the driver of the vehicle stopped immediately and called 911, and cooperated fully with the police investigation.
A special police department team was investigating, and the road remained closed at 10 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said the Allen County Coroner’s Office will determine and publicly share the exact cause and manner of death, along with the woman’s identity.
