EDINBURGH, Ind. (WISH) — Edinburgh High School/Middle School canceled its homecoming football game against Milan High School and all related homecoming activities due to a formal harassment complaint.
At 3:34 p.m. Friday, the official Edinburgh High School/Middle School Facebook page posted the following message:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, tonight’s Homecoming Football game and all related Homecoming activities, are canceled.”
News 8 reached out to Edinburgh Community School Corp. officials for a response. Interim Superintendent James Halik responded to News 8 in an email with the following message:
“The school received a Formal Harassment complaint. We take those seriously … zero tolerance. We reported the situation to the Edinburgh Chief of Police. We are assigning the situation to a non-biased Compliance Officer on Monday to begin our internal investigation. There are consequences for harassment and it cannot be tolerated.”

Halik did not immediately provide details on what led to the formal harassment complaint.
