ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) — After a shooting that killed a man in 2024, Anderson police began an investigation that led them to the arrest of a man in Richmond, Indiana.
The Anderson Police Department says the shooting stemmed from “an altercation involving multiple individuals.” News 8 first reported on the Dec. 7, 2024, shooting that happened at the Steeple Chase Apartments, near West 53rd Street and Madison Avenue.
At the scene, police say 28-year-old Dustin Rhodes, from Anderson, was shot and in serious condition. He later died from his wounds in the hospital.
Two people, believed to be involved with the altercation, were arrested at the scene and SWAT officers helped detain several others at a residence in the 3500 block of Columbus Avenue.
Tuesday, Aug. 19, investigators followed evidence that led them nearly 60 miles southeast of Anderson to Richmond. There, police arrested 33-year-old Jordan Goode, who is also from Anderson.
Goode was taken to the Madison County jail and charged with murder.
Anderson police say their investigation is still ongoing, and they ask anyone with information on the shooting to come forward to police at 765-648-6746.
