LIV Golf tees off in Indiana
WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — LIV Golf teed off its first-ever event in Indiana on Friday. It’s taking over The Club at Chatham Hills in Westfield for three days.
The Indianapolis event also serves as the tour’s regular-season finale. Organizers are expecting a big turnout. About 50,000 people are expected to come throughout the tournament.
Mayor Scott Willis says months of planning are finally paying off.
“A lot of planning [went on] behind the scenes,” Willis said. “The tickets have been sold. We hit more numbers than we thought we would. We’re going to set a record for LIV in terms of attendance and we couldn’t be more thrilled.”
Early Friday morning, entry-level grounds passes appeared to be sold out for the first two days. Premium options were still available for all three days.
Notably, Friday and Saturday will feature concerts after play. Country star Riely Green will play a set on Friday. Then, Pop icon Jason Derulo hits the stage Saturday.
Vice President of Music and Event Production, AJ Dolan, says they curate specific playlists to play at every course.
“We take a lot of pride in … integrating where we go in the region,” Dolan said. “Whether it’s the music, the art, the food, the culture, bringing LIV Golf to life in Indianapolis and showcasing also what they have to offer is something that we really care about.”
Kids 12 and under get in for free with an adult. Organizers say there’s plenty of activities for the whole family — including a petting zoo.
LIV Golf Indianapolis runs through Sunday.
