Indy Parks 2026 budget is $33 million
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indy Parks and Recreation plans to use its operating budget on all 42 parks across Marion County.
Next year’s budget is just more than $33 million, but $70,000 less than this year. Projects next year include an aquatic facility improvement, an archery range, new playgrounds, and green spaces.
“We see our park system as a hub for community connection, and that directly ties into quality of life,” said Brittany Crone, director of Indy Parks and Recreation. “In addition to being accessible to green space, which we have seen in years past, many different reports on how important green space is and our neighbors let us know that as well, not just the science, but our community members that we do our very best to listen to and help prioritize the projects that are coming down the pike.”
Indy Parks said they have also installed more cameras and free public Wi-Fi in most of their parks to expand programming and community safety.
