INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man died Thursday after he was hit by a vehicle on Indy’s southwest side, and police say the driver is still on the run.
The initial call came in around 11:09 a.m. Thursday. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Troy Avenue and Denison Street to investigate an accident with injuries.
That’s in a neighborhood off Troy Avenue just east of Lynhurst Drive.
There, they found a man who had been hit by a vehicle. He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead.
The driver who hit the man did not stay on the scene and may have fled on foot. Investigators did not provide a description of the suspect or their vehicle.
No other information was immediately available.
