INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A Speedway Police Department officer and two suspects were injured in a crash after a pursuit Friday night.
On Friday night, Speedway officers assisted the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department in searching for suspects involved in a shooting just north of Speedway. Officers located a vehicle matching the suspect’s description and attempted a traffic stop.
The driver refused to stop, and a pursuit ensued.
During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle ran a red light at the intersection of 34th Street and Auburn Road, colliding with a Speedway Police Department vehicle. The involved officer was taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The two suspects were detained at the scene.
At this time, investigators have not provided any updates on either suspects’ injury status. This incident remains under investigation.
