Anthony Richardson practices Saturday at training camp
WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. was back on the practice field in full pads on Saturday, just two days after dislocating his right pinky finger in the team’s preseason game at the Baltimore Ravens.
Richardson injured the finger on a sack in the first quarter of the Colts’ 24-16 loss to the Ravens. He would not return.
“You never want to see your quarterback get hit or go down,” Colts center Tanor Bortolini said. “And so for him to not come back in the game made me real nervous. Obviously, as an offensive lineman, you take a lot of pride in protecting that guy. So, for him to not be protected on that play, hurts us. But just happy that he’s OK, happy that he made it out.”
Richardson was asked about his finger on Thursday following the game.
“I don’t think it’s anything too bad,” Richardson said Thursday. “It’s (finger) sore, being dislocated, but it’s all right though.”
Richardson is currently battling Daniel Jones to become the starting quarterback for the Colts this season.
Richardson has missed 17 regular season games during his first two years in the NFL after being picked by the Colts fourth overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.
