Indianapolis Ballet’s new season is almost here
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Ballet is ready to leap into its 2025-26 season, and the organization is inviting dancers of all ages to join in.
“All of our dancers arrived back on Monday to kick off the season,” Maria Maccaroni, director of marketing and communications for the Indianapolis Ballet, said. “We start Aug. 14 with our first performance as part of the annual IndyFringe Festival, and then we move into the rest of the season with our main stage production, ‘Legacy in Motion,’ happening in September.”
The company isn’t just focused on its performances. The Indianapolis School of Ballet, the ballet’s educational division, is now enrolling students starting at age 3 and has a new class designed for families.
“We have a class called Dance With Me, where young dancers and their parents take class together,” Maccaroni said. “We also offer classes all the way through adult levels, including daytime adult ballet and new Pilates classes.”
Affordability and accessibility are key to the ballet’s mission, Maccaroni said, “You can go online to indyballet.org/school and learn about everything we offer,” she said. “If you work downtown and have an hour for lunch, you can even pop in for a class close to the office.”
For families interested in exploring the school before committing, Indianapolis Ballet is hosting an open house Saturday, Aug. 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. No RSVP is required.
“We’ll have free trial classes for students ages 3 to 7 and for those 12 and up. Families can tour the studios, meet our faculty and ask questions before classes start next week,” she said.
Maccaroni said the ballet is open to everyone, “We welcome dancers of all ages and all levels. There’s truly something for everyone.”
