WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — Westfield is set to begin its special census on Thursday in an effort to boost government funding, and residents can complete the process online.
The 2020 census recorded 46,446 Westfield residents. The latest estimate from STATS Indiana put the population at 62,994 in 2024.
Most Westfield households will receive a mailing with a 12-digit code and a web address to complete their special census online.
The special census aims to gather updated population data, which can influence the allocation of state and federal funds to the city. By participating in the census, the local government says, residents can help ensure that Westfield receives appropriate funding for public services and infrastructure.
The online self-response option was designed to make the process more convenient and efficient for residents, reducing the need for in-person data collection.
