Fever HC Stephanie White “still doesn’t know” when Caitlin Clark could return

SEATTLE (WISH) — After missing seven straight games, there’s still no end in sight for when Indiana Fever All-Star Caitlin Clark could return to the floor.

Clark injured her right groin at the end of July 15’s game against the Connecticut Sun. It’s her third lower body injury this season after she previously missed games with left groin and left quad injuries.

Even though she’s sidelined, Clark continues to travel with the team as they play four road games in a row. Clark did practice before Sunday’s game in Seattle, but according to head coach Stephanie White, there’s still no timeline on when Clark could return to the lineup.

“I know she wants to be out here on the floor. We want her out here on the floor. But making sure that she’s ready is the most important thing,” White said. “I still don’t know how far we are. We’re going to take it one step at a time, one day at a time, and go from there. “

White continued to say that Clark’s rehab and recovery are “going well” but that they’re being very careful with pushing her return.

“It’s just I think for us staying the course and making sure that we’re really diligent about each step that we take and that we don’t have set backs and that we’re patient with it.”

The Fever have rattled off four-straight wins with Clark on the sideline, marking the longest win streak of the season so far. Indiana is now four games above .500 for the first time since 2015. The Fever face the Seattle Storm Sunday afternoon and try to make it five wins in a row for the first time this season.
