BROOKVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — A driver died and his passenger was hurt after they collided head-on with a semitruck in Franklin County late Friday night.
The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Causeway and Saltwell roads just east of Brookville Lake.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department says William Pearson, 52, was driving on Causeway Road when he crossed the center line while on coming onto a curve and collided with a semitruck.
Pearson died at the scene. His passenger sustained nonlife-threatening injuries but had to be extricated from the car. They were taken to a hospital in Cincinnati for treatment.
The truck driver, 26-year-old Joseph McDonald, was unharmed.
Investigators did not say if any other factors led up to the crash.
