Marcus’ 4 a.m. Friday forecast
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Cool and comfortable conditions settle in for the weekend.
Today:
Picture-perfect weather settles across the Midwest starting today. Temperatures will be cooler, and humidity will be lower. Highs will reach the mid to upper 70s, with some lower 80s possible in southern Indiana.
Wildfire smoke returns:
Wildfire smoke will return overhead due to a strong northwest flow. Most of it should stay aloft, keeping air quality relatively good, but haze will be visible in the sky for the next couple of days.
Wildfire smoke aloft will persist as the weekend begins. Much of the wildfire smoke will move out starting Sunday.
Weekend:
Meanwhile, weekend temperatures will be fantastic, with overnight lows dropping into the 50s for the first time in several weeks and highs remaining below average on both Saturday and Sunday.
Next week:
On Monday, winds will shift to the south, cutting off the wildfire smoke. However, this will also increase temperatures and humidity. Highs will reach near-normal levels in the mid-80s for much of next week. Dew points rising into the 60s will likely bring chances for thunderstorms each afternoon starting Monday.
