Caitlin Clark stalker pleads guilty, sentenced to 2.5 years in jail

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Texas man who said he was “guilty as charged” for stalking Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has been sentenced to prison.

Michael Lewis, 55, was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison, but the judge recommends him to serve his time at the Marion County Jail. Lewis was ordered to stay away from Clark and Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and he won’t have internet access while serving his sentence.

After his sentence, the judge says Lewis should go back home to Texas and seek mental health treatment.

Clark approved of the plea agreement, according to the prosecution.

News 8 previously reported that Lewis sent sexually-explicit messages on social media to Clark through X, on average making 30 posts about Clark per day.

During his self-described “vacation” in Indianapolis, Lewis was arrested for stalking Clark outside a hotel in January.

Lewis’ odd behaviors slipped out during his Monday court appearance. At one point, the judge even interrupted the proceedings to ask Lewis, “What are you putting in your mouth? You cannot take drugs in the courtroom.”

Lewis claimed he was only chewing on his headphone cable.

Before being sentenced, Lewis said all his posts were “my imagination getting away from me” and the whole thing was “like a game of telephone.” Then he derailed into a rant on a pending economic collapse, war, and Jesus.
