INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana Conservation Officers on Thursday found the body of a 21-year-old woman who was swept away while swimming in the White River in Daviess County.
The woman and a juvenile were swept down river around 9:30 a.m. while swimming at the Maysville Public Access site east of Vincennes, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources says.
DNR officers arrived and rescued the juvenile from a sandbar located downstream.
The body of Kathryn Bottoms, of Washington, was found a short time later.
The juvenile was transported to Daviess Community Hospital for evaluation. Indiana DNR did not provide an update on their condition.
