INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and the U.S. Marshal Task Force, along with Atlanta law enforcement, arrested a 25-year-old woman for her alleged involvement in a shooting on the northwest side of Indianapolis.
On July 5, at 2:12 a.m., IMPD North District officers responded to reports of a walk-in person shot at a local hospital. Officers arrived and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was listed in critical condition.
The shooting was originally occurred in the 1400 block of Burdsal Parkway on the city’s northwest side.
IMPD Aggravated Assault detectives arrived at the crime scene to initiate the investigation. During the investigation, detectives found an abandoned vehicle belonging to Christiona Hutchinson, 25, within hours of the shooting. When processing the vehicle, a firearm was recovered by an IMPD Alcohol, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) gun liaison officer and seized as evidence.
Detectives identified Hutchinson as the suspect in the shooting and obtained an arrest warrant for her arrest.
On Wednesday, Detectives found Hutchinson to the Atlanta, Georgia, area and collaborated with Atlanta law enforcement to apprehend her.
Hutchinson was arrested on two active warrants related to this investigation: One for battery with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, and the second for a parole violation stemming from an armed robbery. She is awaiting extradition back to Indianapolis.
