BATESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — A suburban Cincinnati woman died at a hospital after crashing her car Monday afternoon on I-74 eastbound in northern Ripley County, the Indiana State Police said in a news release issued Tuesday afternoon.
Darla S. Tabor, 68, of Hamilton, Ohio, lost control of her 2002 Mercury car while eastbound on I-74 about 3 miles east of the Indiana city of Batesville. The car went off the south side of the road and overturned about 2:30 p.m. Monday.
Tabor died at a Cincinnati area hospital in Hamilton County, Ohio.
Investigators suspect that a medical condition may have contributed to the crash, and evidence suggests Tabor was not wearing a seatbelt, which likely contributed to the severity of her injuries.
Alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the crash, although toxicology results were pending.
Ripley County is about a 95-minute drive southeast of downtown Indianapolis.
