INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police say a man died after being shot during an altercation at a home on the near eastside.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched to a home on Brookside Parkway North Drive near East 19th Street around 2:15 a.m. Friday on a report of a person shot.
That’s where police found a man with a gunshot wound in a backyard. He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, but later died.
A second man was also taken to a hospital for a neck injury. Police have not said if he is a victim, witness or suspect.
Investigators also located a dog who had trauma injuries “unrelated to the gunshots.”
Detectives arrived and spoke with several people at the scene who were detained but later released.
