Marcus’ 4 a.m. Tuesday forecast
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Seasonable temperatures this week with nearly daily pop-up rain chances.
Today:
We’re monitoring isolated fog that developed overnight. In some areas, the fog could be quite dense, but it should remain limited, so we’re not expecting widespread issues during the morning commute.
It’s noticeably cooler this morning, especially in northern Indiana, where dewpoint temperatures have dropped into the 50s.
A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible this afternoon, but most areas should stay dry with warm temperatures. Highs will reach the upper 80s.
Tonight:
An upper-level wave will bring scattered showers and a weakening convective system to the area late tonight into the overnight hours. A few rumbles of thunder are possible, but expect mainly light to moderate showers in parts of the state.
Otherwise, we’ll see mostly cloudy skies with lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
Wednesday:
Wednesday’s rain chances are lower than previously forecasted. The upper-level disturbance bringing rain late Tuesday night should clear by Wednesday morning, leaving mostly sunny skies with seasonable temperatures and reasonable humidity. Highs will reach the mid-80s.
Thursday also looks mainly dry. As with recent days, a few pop-up storms are possible with afternoon heating.
7 day forecast:
High pressure will briefly settle in to end the week, keeping us dry but warming temperatures, with highs nearing 90°F by Friday.
A more significant weather boundary will move in late Friday night into Saturday, bringing our best chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms. The system may stall from Saturday afternoon through Sunday, resulting in isolated to scattered rain chances throughout the weekend.
Temperatures will remain near or slightly above average for this time of year.
