BARGERSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — The Bargersville Fire Department says a child was injured in an accidental grease fire at an apartment on Tuesday night.
According to a Facebook post from the department, crews responded to the fire at the apartment building in the 3100 block of Clary Crossing around 8:15 p.m. That’s a neighborhood off of State Road 135, south of Stones Crossing Road.
Firefighters say a man and two kids were home at the time of the fire. Crews found the injured child in the front yard. The child was stable when transported to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
Firefighters also rescued a dog and two cats from the fire. Three other families were forced to evacuate the apartment building.
Fire investigators ruled the fire accidental, caused by a grease fire on the stove.
