INDIANAPOLIS — An 8-year-old girl was found dead at a home on Indianapolis’ near east side Wednesday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers went to the 700 block of South Bancroft Street, near Emerson Avenue and Brookville Road, just after 7 a.m. They responded to a report of a child who was not breathing.
Officers found the girl unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are still investigating. It is not yet clear what led to the girl’s death.
