GREENTOWN, Ind. (WISH) — A 59-year-old Kokomo woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday, according to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday.
At 10:53 p.m. Friday, deputies with the Howard County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the intersection of County Road 600 East and County Road 100 South in Greentown on a report of a two-vehicle crash. Deputies arrived and found that two vehicles had rolled over due to the crash and occupants were trapped inside.
At 11:34 p.m. Friday, a woman, identified as Angela Dawn Murdock, 59, of Kokomo, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the passenger in an SUV being driven by James S. Murdock, her husband.
The Howard County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene, along with traffic reconstructionist from the Howard County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators believe James was driving his 2019 white Jeep Compass westbound on County Road 100 South, and as he crossed the intersection of County Road 600 East, a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling southbound and failed to stop, striking the passenger side of James’ SUV. The Grand Cherokee was driven by Dakota Pogue, 25, of Kokomo.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
Investigators ask that anyone with information on this incident contact Sergeant Chris Cramer at 765-456-2020.
