FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WISH) — A 25-year-old has been arrested in connection to the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old early Wednesday morning in Fort Wayne, authorities say.
Julian Keith Flowers died after the shooting reported just before 2 a.m. Wednesday in the 7200 block of Lakeridge Drive. That’s at the Willow Creek Crossing Apartments off Lower Huntington Road east of Airport Expressway on the city’s south side.
Flowers died at a hospital shortly after arriving there, Fort Wayne Police Department said.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office ruled the shooting a homicide, and said Flowers had a gunshot wound to his torso.
Alaye Hanson was later taken into custody without incident and preliminarily charged with murder.
A news release from the Fort Wayne police did not provide any details on what may have led to the shooting.

Keith Flowers is the 27th homicide victim in Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2025, the coroner’s office said.
