Woman fatally shot outside liquor store
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis police took one person for questioning after a woman was shot and killed at a liquor store on the city’s northwest side.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded just before 3 a.m. Saturday to a shooting at Jack’s Liquor Store. That’s at the intersection of 56th Street and Georgetown Road, just west of Saddlebrook Golf Club.
Officers arrived and found the injured woman. She was rushed to a local hospital but did not survive.
One person of interest was taken for questioning, but IMPD did confirm if that person is a suspect.
Security camera footage shows the victim an the person of interest arrive at the store together, but investigators say they’re not sure if or how the two know each other.
No other information was immediately available.
Anyone with information was asked to contact IMPD or Crime Stoppers.
