INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A tornado watch has been issued through 9 p.m. EDT Tuesday for eight Indiana counties west and northwest of Indianapolis, as well as much of north central Illinois.
A few tornadoes are possible, as well as scattered hail up to 2 inches in diameter, and scattered gusts up to 70 mph.
Indiana counties in the watch area are Benton, Fountain, Montgomery, Parke, Tippecanoe, Vermillion, Vigo and Warren. Cities in the watch area include Crawfordsville, Lafayette, Terre Haute, and West Lafayette.
That tornado watch is one of two in Indiana.
The other tornado watch until 11 p.m. EDT includes the Indiana counties of Gibson, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh and Warrick, as well as one county in southern Illinois, much of western Kentucky and Tennessee, and a few counties in north Alabama. Primary hazards are likely tornadoes, hail up to the size of tennis balls, and scattered gusts up to 70 mph.
