LOGANSPORT, Ind. (WISH) — The jury trial for former Indianapolis Colts player Daniel Muir and his wife, Kristin Muir, has been canceled as a special judge in Cass Circuit Court was appointed to handle the case.
Online court records show the case was transferred to Special Judge Crystal Kocher on June 18, per an order of the Indiana Supreme Court.
The Muirs were arrested in July 2024 after their son, Bryson Muir, went missing for several days after leaving his grandmother’s house in Ohio. An Indiana Silver Alert was issued in June 2024, but Bryson was eventually found after a raid on the Muirs’ home. Police later learned Bryson had been the subject of physical abuse from his father.
The Muirs have a status hearing with Kocher at 1 p.m. Thursday.
Their jury trial was had been set to start Aug. 4, but a new court date hasn’t been set.
Daniel Muir faces low-level felony charges of obstruction of justice, and battery resulting in serious bodily injury, and a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.
